CSKA track and field will send a total of 25 athletes to the republican junior championship which will be held at the Vasil Levski stadium this weekend. Boyana Chepileva is hot favourite for the gold in the 400 m with hurdles and 400 m. Several other red athletes are also expected to fight for the medals.

Bulgaria has got a new champion in the 110m hurdles. The athlete from CSKA Aleksandar Aleksandrov outran the leaders in recent years in short hurdles - Milen Vulkanov (Beroe) and Tsvetomir Kirov (Ludogorets). The hurdle runner of the Reds passed the obstacles in the final run in 14.78 sec. at the tournament in Sofia. The champion from the previous year Vulkanov ranked second. He was left behind in the last meters. Vulkanov's time was 14.85 sec. The 2015 champion Kirov took the third place with 14.92 sec.

The competitor of CSKA Kiril Zagorski for a third consecutive year proved to be the most complex athlete in Bulgaria after becoming a champion again in the decathlon. He triumphed with 5798 points (11.72 sec. in 100 meters, 6.43 meters in the long jump, 11.57 meters at shot put, 185 cm in the high jump, 53.80 sec. in the 400 m, 15.71 sec. in 110 m hurdles, 31.30 m at discus throw, 2.60 m at pole vault, 45.90 m at javelin throw and 5:17.56 min in 1500 m).
