CSKA failed to win the Bulgarian Cup

CSKA lost the final of the Bulgarian Cup tournament after a 1-0 defeat in front of the full stands of the National Stadium Vasil Levski and an incredible atmosphere.

Both teams started stiffly in front of the excited fans and rarely managed to reach a clear goal position. The Reds tried several crossings in the penalty area, but the defense of the symbolic guests didn't make a mistake.

In the 25th minute Carey shot dangerously from a direct free kick, but the ball flew over the opponent's goal. Two minutes later Yomov broke from the left, crossed to the far post, where Vion shot from the air, but the ball went off target.

After the break, Amos Youga replaced Karlo Muhar, but just after the substitution the symbolic guests opened the score after a long shot and a ricochet that fooled Busatto.

Alan Pardew took out Graham Carey and released the fresh Mauricio Garcez, as well as Federico Varela instead of Thibaut Vion, but the equalizer never came.

The next match of CSKA is on Thursday (May 19), when Botev Plovdiv will play at the Bulgarska Armiya Stadium in a match from the 30th round of the First League.
